Cala is a modern dining experience rooted in Irish produce, shaped by European technique, and informed by global inspiration.

We opened our doors in early 2025 with a clear intention — to create a neighbourhood restaurant centred on bold flavour, shared plates, and a genuine sense of hospitality.

As we’ve evolved, so too has our expression. Today, Cala reflects a more refined and confident kitchen: one that works closely with the best of Irish land and sea, while drawing influence from across Europe and beyond.

The name Cala — meaning “cove” in several Mediterranean languages — speaks to a sense of place. A place to gather, to slow down, and to feel at ease. That spirit defines both our dining room and our approach to food.

Set in the coastal surroundings of Dún Laoghaire, our menus are guided by seasonality and shaped by our relationships with farmers, fishermen, and producers. As these connections deepen, so too does our understanding of the ingredients — allowing us to cook with greater clarity, respect, and purpose.

The result is food that feels both familiar and elevated — restrained in approach, expressive in flavour, and designed to be shared.
